Origin:

  Maine to Ontario and Kansas, south to Florida and Texas  

Sun/Water Requirements:

  Partial/Full sun.
Moderate to wet conditions.
Dirr says: "excellent for moist soil areas and semi-shady spots; does adequately in dry soils."

Climate / Hardiness Zones:

  Zone 4 to Zone 9

Growth:

  Range: Grows from 5' to 10'.
Dirr says: "6 to 12' high with a similar spread; usually rounded shrub in outline, somewhat loose and open in the wild; dense, full and broad-rounded in full sun."

  Color(s): Yellow
Season(s): Early Spring

Dirr says: "early to mid-April before the leaves (mid-March in Athens, GA), not overwhelming but attractive."

Dirr says: "The fruits are lovely and remind one of the fruits of Cornus mas (Corneliancherry Dogwood). They are brilliant scarlet and singularly eye-catching in the autumn landscape on close inspection."
