  Southwest Maryland to North Carolina, Arkansas, south to Mexico and West Indies

  Partial/Full sun.
Moderate climate.
Dirr says: "denser and more fruitful in sun. Does better with ample root moisture"

  Zone 6 to Zone 12

Growth:

  Range: Grows from 3' to 10'.
Dirr says: "rather coarse, 3 to 8' high, loose, open shrub that is found throughout the southeast. Makes a good shrub for naturalizing or massing. Have seen it used under Pine trees with excellent effect."
