Growth:

  Range: Grows from 5' to 10'.
Dirr says: "large, unkempt, sloppily dressed, spreading, round-topped, multi-stemmed shrub of a dense, twiggy nature; suckers freely from roots and forms a colony much like C. racemosa (Gray Dogwood)"

Flowers:

  Season(s): Late Spring, Summer

Dirr says: "profusely produced in late May to early June in 1 1/2 to 2" diameter, flat-topped cymes, effective for 7 to 10 days; the total effect of the flowers is somewhat reduced by the abundant foliage."

Color: Leaves are dark green in the summer and purple in the fall.
