Dirr says: "Can be successfully grown in Zone 8 and is hardier than Fatsia japonica. In 1984, at -3°F, it died back to the ground but has regenerated."

Growth:

  Dirr says: "semi-climbing, evergreen shrub or vine. Grows 3 to 5' if left to its own devices; can be trained on a wall to 10' or more. (Intergeneric hybrid between Fatsia japonica 'Moseri' and Hedera helix (English Ivy) 'Hibernica'."

Dirr says: "pale green-white flowers are borne in an 8 to 10" long panicle made up of 1" diameter, 12- to 36-flowered umbels. Flowers in October in the Dirr garden (GA)."

Dirr says: "leathery, lustrous leaves are 4 to 10" across and not quite as long, 5-lobed, palmate with the lobes cut 1/3 to 1/2 the way to the base."
