	Color(s): Purple Season(s): Summer Armitage says: "The flower stem is bractless and carries 20-30 bell-shaped flowers about 3' above the foliage.The flowers, which are dark purple with darker stripes within, are borne horizontally but become pendent.The petals widen abruptly into campanula-like flowers."

Armitage says: "Broad glossy leaves (up to 7" wide) carried on a short, wide, shallowly furrowed petiole are characteristic of the species.The dark green, 7-9" long foliage bears 7-9 pairs of lateral veins and unusually distinct cross veins, resulting in a net-like appearance.The flower stem is bractless and carries 20-30 bell-shaped flowers about 3' above the foliage."
