  Partial/Full sun.
Moderate to dry conditions.

  Zone 6 to Zone 8

Dirr says: "Prospers in the heat of the South. Cold hardiness if less than C. virginicus and anything below -15 degrees F will result in stem kill."

Growth:

  Range: Grows from 15' to 30'.
Dirr says: "large multi-stemmed shrub in cultivation but can be grown as a small tree. Usually reached 15 to 25' in height but may grow 30 to 40' in the wild. The outline is spreading, rounded."

Season(s): Summer

Dirr says: "flowers are in panicles. One traveler in China compared it in flower to a dome of soft, fleecy snow. Perhaps even more effective in flower than C. virginicus (White Fringetree) since the flowers occur at the ends of the new shoot extension."

Color: Leaves are dark green in the summer and yellow in the fall.
Dirr says: "leathery, often smaller than those of C. virginicus and lustrous."

Dirr says: "Fruit will occur only on female plants, ripening in September through October"
