Upright arching, vase-shaped shrub, somewhat fountain-like in overall effect; becomes leggy with age and most of the foliage is in upper one-half of the plant. Older stems should be pruned out every year; to renew plant simply cut it to the ground after flowers; flowers on old wood."

Season(s): Late Spring

Dirr says: "pink, yellow in throat, flaring bell-shaped, two-together, 1/2" long, about as wide as the mouth, May - early June, borne in 2 to 3" diameter corymbs. The principal attribute of this plant is the flower; full flower mid to late April on the Georgia campus."
