	Ohio to Florida, west to Arkansas and Louisiana

Sun/Water Requirements:

Can tolerate both shady and sunny conditions.
Moderate climate.

Climate / Hardiness Zones:
	Zone 4 to Zone 8

Growth:
	Range: Grows from 30' to 50'.

Flowers:
	Color(s): White Season(s): Late Spring, Early Summer Dirr says: "fragrant, solitary in June, sometimes 14" across."

Foliage:
	Deciduous Color: Leaves are dark green and green in the summer and yellow and brown in the fall. Dirr says: "The leaves are extremely large (12 to 32") and give an overall coarse appearance which makes it difficult to use the tree in the landscape"

Fruit:
	Color: Red Season(s): Late Summer

Landscape Value:
	Can be used as an ornamental plant. Can be used as a specimen plant. Dirr says: "The tree is not meant for the residential landscape and is best reserved for parks, campuses and more fittingly, the insatiable magnolia collector."
